GEN3BLOCK started in May 2025 with a problem the founder kept seeing: organisations wanted to use AI but had no idea whether they were ready, and the consultancies offering to help them were selling £50,000 transformation programmes that started with the technology and treated governance as a final checkbox.
We built the opposite. A free assessment that starts with governance: data protection, accountability, risk. From there, we work outward. In the first 12 months, that approach led to production AI systems running in 10 countries, a government grant to build the assessment platform, an open-source GDPR toolkit used by developers who'd never heard of us, and partnerships with organisations across education, social care, and financial services.
We're based in Northampton. We're small on purpose. And every organisation we work with, from a 5-person charity to an international EdTech platform, gets the same thing: honest assessment, practical support, and governance that doesn't get skipped.

GEN3BLOCK was founded by Charles Nwankpa, an AWS Certified Machine Learning Engineer with an MSc in Data Science, BCS certification in AI Ethics & Governance, and CMI Level 7 in Strategic Management.
Before GEN3BLOCK, Charles worked across data engineering, machine learning, and AI systems. He built production platforms handling thousands of users, delivered AI workshops that shifted team confidence by over 90%, and published gdpr-safe-rag, the only open-source GDPR-native RAG toolkit on PyPI.
