The situation
Fourteen professionals from healthcare, charity, education, food production, and community volunteering arrived uncertain, anxious, or dismissive about AI. Many assumed it was not relevant to their work, too complex to use, or too risky to trust. The average pre-session confidence score was 3.8 out of 10.
What was delivered
A structured 2.5-hour learning experience built to close the gap between AI anxiety and AI confidence in a single session, with measured results at the end.
Every attendee identified at least one practical AI application for their specific role, from NHS admin efficiency to grant writing to lesson planning and community engagement.
Hands-on exercises built around real work scenarios from the attendees themselves. Everyone left having successfully used AI for something directly relevant to their job.
Safety, privacy, and ethical use were embedded into every exercise. Confidence was built correctly from the start, not layered on top of bad habits.
Pre-session and post-session confidence scores on a 1 to 10 scale gave a precise, verifiable view of real impact, not just self-reported satisfaction.
Measured impact
Every figure below comes from the same 14-person cohort on 4 March 2026, self-reported at the start and end of the session on a 1 to 10 scale.
